Abstract: Data science is cool and...messy. Data scientists are called by lots of different names, but they all have one thing in common: they use data to answer questions to support decisions. The process of doing this is varied and complex. You may be excited about jumping into the field, or you may have been doing it for several years and start to wonder where you should go. This talk covers some of the most common questions about the career in data science.
What is data science?
Where should I start if I want to get to data science?
Should I work for a big company or startup?
What is my career path?
What skills are required?
